1st Leichhardt Group celebrated its 110th Anniversary on the 23rd September at the Scout Hall.
It was a chance for many to catch up and reminisce

and to recall achievements of the past. Peter Nickl spoke about his Queen Scout award.

Canvas tents were set up at the back of the hall attracting Cubs in play.

The afternoon’s formalities began with the Opening Ceremony

and Jamie Parker MP, Member for Balmain, interrupted his baby shower (for his first child) as he did not want to miss out.

Victoria Walne and Noel Davar spoke about the Scouting Movement and its importance in the community. Betty French at 90+ years shared memories of her 35 years of Scouting, many of those as Cub Leader (1959-1986).

Our Cubs performed “Mowgli and the Bandalog” expertly arranged by our Cub Leader, Ken Robinson.

The cake was cut by the youngest and oldest 1st Leichhardt Scout, Tasman and Daphne Songberg (wife of Allan Songberg who joined as a Cub in 1936).

The celebrations concluded with our tradition of assembling in front of the hall for our annual Group photo.
