Recently some of our 1st Leichhardt families gathered at Scout Camp Kariong for an informal and relaxed camp. What better way to enjoy the hot spring weekend than with a swim in the waterhole, a fling on the flying fox, an impromptu soccer game, and – naturally – melting marshmallows over the fire? We thoroughly enjoyed the bush setting, the commercial kitchen, getting to know each other, and spotting wildlife including yabbies, frog-poles, many birds and even a small snake! A cool change brought overnight respite and we ambled down to Pikes Creek before packing up and heading home.
We don’t do group camps often but maybe we have set a new tradition?
