It was a special day at 1st Leichhardt Scouts when our very first Joey’s Unit were invested on 1st December 2020. To celebrate the occasion, guests included parents, District Commissioner Noel Davar, Region Joeys Commissioner Cathy Beitelis, Former Group Leader Claudia Sloan, Group Leader Victoria Walne, Joeys Leader Judith, Assistant Leader Emmie, Joeys Leader in training Maria and Youth Helper Caitlyn.
The ceremony began with Joeys crossing a bridge with crocodiles swimming in a river below. Each Joey had to say what they liked about joining Joeys and to cross the river in a unique way otherwise they would be eaten by crocodiles.
Needless to say they all crossed the river safely and went on to be invested… and they all learned the Bravo chant too.
