The year has started strongly with 21 new youth members joining 1st Leichhardt across all Units, with the biggest intake being 8 new Joeys. It’s fantastic to see the group thriving! We keep running out of scarves and woggles, though that gives us opportunities to practice the friendship knot.
We also welcomed two new leaders, investing Maria Barahona, originally a Spanish Scout, who joined as a Trainee Joey leader when we started the Unit a few years ago. After some time off having her second baby, Maria has returned fully trained and ready to assist Judy. Welcome back Maria!
Prayas Deep Adhikari is a young adult leader with a Scouting background in his home country of Nepal, and currently studying in Australia. Prayas is a friendly and enthusiastic Scout with a background in community service through Scouts in Nepal. We are thrilled to have him join as Trainee Cubs Leader.
